CDC Treasurer and Centre Manager
Sarah joined Cardiff Deaf Centre’s Board of Trustees at its inception in 2014 as a Treasurer and also as a Centre Manager
She worked in the Civil Service for 17 years and then worked at RNID (now known as AOHL) as a BSL (British Sign Language)Training Officer for 8 years where she managed staff under the project BSL Futures developing and enhancing the skills and development for Deaf Teachers to deliver BSL courses within their domain and increasing the skills base of locally trained English/BSL Interpreters.
She is now a Director of Sarona Training and Consultancy Ltd and this company was founded in 2012 , she has been teaching BSL and delivering Deaf Awareness for over 25 years as a teacher, assessor and verifier. Latterly, Sarah has begun to understand the importance of mental health of deaf and hearing people and the lack of support that is available to all is a significant gap that needs to be bridged, she has recently attended several training courses linked to Mental Health and wishes to explore this deeper to enhance the wellbeing of deaf and hearing people in general.
Sarah is a Cardiff girl, born and bred in the same city and lives there with her husband and 3 children
